Upcoming Events and Volunteer Opportunities in Logan Circle

It's that time of year again - the weather is getting warmer, days are longer, and we have lots of great activities and events in Logan Circle - from a picnic in the park to a survey of infrastructure needs to a community rummage sale and a diabetes support group. If you have a community event you'd like us to publish, please email us. We plan to publish upcoming events every Monday.

Walk-Through Survey of SMD2F06
Saturday, May 20 - 10:00-noon

The ANC2F Committee on Crime and Public Safety is pleased to announce that it will conduct a survey of Single Member District 2F06 to identify public-safety infrastructure-related concerns, including graffiti, downed/missing signage, missing street light plates, abandoned vehicles, broken windows, overflowing trash - basically anything that makes our neighborhood more attractive to criminals. We intend to pass along the results of our survey to city officials for appropriate follow-up.

We are looking for at least 9 volunteers to join us on Saturday, May 20th at Azi's Café at 1336 9th Street, NW at 10:00 a.m., and we expect the survey to last approximately 2 hours (just in time for a late brunch/ lunch). We hope to have enough volunteers to divide up into teams to survey the neighborhood. Digital camera's are welcome and we are looking for at least three people with bikes to assist. If you are interested please send an e-mail to: anc2fccps@gmail.com. Stay safe!

Diabetes Support Group
May 18, 7:00 P.M.

A Diabetes Support Group is being formed at The Church of the Ascension & St. Agnes, 12th & Massachusetts Ave., NW, WDC, 20005. The first meeting is on 18 May, at 7:00 p.m. Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects all aspects of daily life and is an increasingly serious public health issue. A support group is very helpful for many diabetics and their families who find coping with the daily glucose monitoring, diet restrictions, exercise, and etc. difficult. To aid in coping with diabetes, this group will provide personal support, general information, newest research results, and diet modification information. For more info. call 202-347-8161.
